Monitored, managed and maintained
More and more organisations are wanting to have their IBM Cognos solutions running in the cloud, SaaS products are begining to become the norm, however it can sometimes be difficult for SaaS products to match the capabilities of "on-premises"products.
Aramar Technologies Cloud Hosting can provide the best of both worlds.
Each customers platform is built bespoke, meaning you get the capabilities and features you need for your specifc organisations needs. No more cookie-cutter, one-size fits all approaches. The product, version and add-on combinations that suit you.
We use active monitoring of the platforms various system and application metrics to provide a real-time view of how each customers environment is performing, together with security logs giving us up to the minute visibility of most issues allowing us to carry out detailed pro-active maintenance.
Why host in the cloud?
There are several benefits to doing this:
- No Capex needed for using more computing power
- Ability to start small and grow as the use of the solution grows
- Change configurations quickly
- Dedicated UK based support team backed up by your IBM existing support agreement
At Aramar Technologies we are experience and skilled in supporting IBM Cognos applications in the Cloud. This means that the buck stops with us not your IT team, they can concentrate on other tasks. We ensure that the IBM Cognos applications are up-to-date and running smoothly and you can focus on the important bits of your job.
Hosted on the worlds largest public cloud infrastructure
Our Hosted Managed Solutions is build upon the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) from Amazon Web Services. The Amazon Cloud has been running from 2006 and is the largest Public Cloud service with over 1,000,000 active users. The infrastructure is incredibly scalable and offers:
- Global Infrastructure
- Compute Power
- Content Distribution
- Database Services
- Application Services
- Management Tools
- Developer Tools
- Integration with Existing Infrastructure
- Big Data
- Extensive Partner Network
Amazon Web Services has the largest number of data centres in the world. There are over 50 Availability Zones within 18 geographic Regions around the world, with announced plans for 12 more Availability Zones and four more Regions in Bahrain, Hong Kong, and Sweden.
You only pay for what you use. Amazon EC2 can be expanded at Quarter Ends and Year Ends to have more processing power available when you need it (within your agreed IBM license limits) and then reduce it when you need less. No need to raise a CAPEX for costly hardware and its set-up. If you want to run a proof of concept you can run up a very cheap environment to see the value of the software and only scale it up or transfer it to production if the project gets the green light from the business.
The Amazon EC2 offers a very large number of server instancy types to cater for all your requirements. You can find the full list and pricing here.
When your IBM Cognos platform is hosted on the AWS cloud, we can easily take advantage of the hundreds of other AWS services available, connected direct to your hosted servers, for example, using AWS Glue for a fully managed ETL service or AWS RedShift for data warehousing that is both extremely powerful and economical to use.
